Can my home's electrical system support an EV charger, and will I need any upgrades?

In Malaysia, your home’s electrical supply determines the type of EV charger you can install:

Single-Phase Supply (230V):
- Suitable for chargers up to 7kW.
- If you have a standard 63A fuse, you can typically use a 7kW charger alongside one major appliance (like an air conditioner) without overloading.
Three-Phase Supply (400V):
- Supports chargers of 11kW or 22kW.
- Allows for faster charging and running multiple appliances simultaneously.

How to Check Your Compatibility:

What wiring size do you use for Home EV charger installation?

We use 6mm Wiring for homes as its required by the government body Suruhanjaya Tenaga.

However if you need to route the wiring outside of your house and if its exposed to the sun, then we suggest to go for 10mm, so that it can take take more heat.
