Proton e.Mas official unveiling this Friday – All Details
Proton has been hinting at its electric vehicle to be launched in December, with sales predicted to start in 2025. However, the recent turn of events has led to Proton running it back and settling on unveiling the Proton e.Mas vehicle just 2 days after writing this article (Friday, August 2)! A much earlier than expected rollout of Proton’s first electric vehicle.
Proton e.Mas official teaser
A teaser has been released officially by Proton, highlighting a silhouette similar to our speculated rumours surrounding the Proton eMas. The darkened image conveys the side profile of the Geely Galaxy E5 while the lower half of the vehicle stays enshrouded. The image provided by Proton can’t provide much detail to say with certainty which model vehicle it is as it is heavily edited to stay within the covers of the dark.
Is the teaser confirmed to be a rebadge of the Geely Galaxy E5?
The teaser image is edited to grant a better outline by manipulating brightness, contrast, and definition. Post-editing shows a bolder outline of the e.Mas, which, when overlaid with an edited render of the Geely Galaxy E5 side profile, validates the speculations that strongly indicate the rebadge of the Geely Galaxy E5 as the overlay is picture-perfect on top.
Is the Proton e.Mas naming scheme concurrent?
With news of Proton’s unveiling of its first electric vehicle in a few days, it’s found that Proton has trademarked the e.Mas brand name with the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MYIPO) last month on the 13th of June. Interestingly, however, Proton has simultaneously filed e.MAS7, under its trademark. Accompanying the trademark is a rendition of the e.MAS7 logo, which under speculation, could be the naming scheme of Proton’s upcoming unveiling e.Mas vehicle. Several classes of trademarks have been registered for the e.MAS7, which includes:
- Class 9, 12, 16, 25, 35, 37, and 42
Quick rundown on the specs of Proton e.Mas
